The Day Earth Escaped from His Sky

In the beginning existed a wise god called Celest, who lived in the beautiful blue sky. He was unimaginably big and powerful that he could control anything in his sky, such as the weather. Although he was giant, Celest was in the appearance of an old man with a brown beard. The sky god had the ability to make the stars shine and to create any plants he wanted. However, he was very lonely, because he had no one to talk to. There was nothing alive in the sky, other than the trees and flowers he created. Although Celest had plants around him, he did not have any creatures to talk to. So he decided to make a creature that could move and talk. He gave the creatures five fingers, five toes, and the ability to walk, but also gave them tails and fur. He decided to call this species "monkeys." All the monkeys respected and obeyed the god, and he was very happy.

However, there was one monkey, called Earth, which behaved differently from other monkeys. He was very wicked and was discontent with the fact that he was not the one that every monkey worshiped and obeyed. Earth did not like to work, and often bullied other monkeys. Earth envied the god’s power to rule over all the monkeys in the sky, and wanted to have that authority as a king of all the monkeys. So Earth secretly decided to make his own planet by gathering pieces of the sky. Every night, he scraped and stole chunks of the sky, and dragged them to his place little by little. Eventually, his sky pieces built up and became a planet.

One day, Earth’s planet got so big that the sky could not hold it any longer and got ripped. The sly monkey and his planet fell through the ripped sky. He realized that he needed other monkeys on his planet in order to become a king, so he decided to scream for help on purpose. When the naive monkeys came to save him, believing that he was in trouble, Earth grabbed one monkey’s tail, which grabbed another monkey’s, which grabbed another’s, and so on. So eventually, all the monkeys were dragged out of the sky and to the planet that wicked Earth made. The monkey named the planet “Earth” after him, made himself a king. The monkeys all worshiped their new leader, and these monkeys eventually became humans. Earth forced the monkeys to build mountains and make oceans. When the sky god noticed that all of his companions were gone, he was furious at Earth, yet he could not do anything because he was powerless outside the sky. The only thing he could do was to yell and cry, which came down as thunder and rain on the ground.
